Discovery Kingdom has long been known for being home to many types of animals, including California sea lions. This week, a sea lion who was rescued after being shot in the face made his first appearance at his new home, and appears to be doing well. The sea lion, name Sgt. Nevis by his rescuers, was rehabilitated at the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito. He was shot by a fisherman in the Sacramento River. His wounds are so extreme that it is doubtful he could survive in the wild. It is really great that Discovery Kingdom has given him a home where he can live, and educate humans about wildlife conservation!
